Jamaica School of Radiation Therapy (JSRT)

 

The Ministry of Health (MOH) in partnership with the Radiation Oncology Center of Jamaica (ROCJ) has established the first Radiation Therapy training in Jamaica.

 

The idea to establish a school of radiation therapy was born out of the need for the Kingston Public Hospital, Cornwall Regional Hospital and the country’s sole private radiation centre, the ROCJ, to have a cadre of trained Radiation Therapists available to administer radiation therapy.

 

Training commenced in July 2009 with its first cohort. This one year programme includes   nine (9) months of intense clinical sessions at ROCJ with some rotations through Kingston Public Hospital and Cornwall Regional Hospital.

 

Jamaica School of Radiation Therapy (JSRT) is in the process of seeking accreditation from the University Council of Jamaica.
