It is with pleasure that we welcome all visitors to this website, long in the making and hopefully now of “permanent” existence! The Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM) is a statutory body, established by law, to assess the qualifications of certain specified paramedical professions, register those duly qualified and monitor their standards of practice. This protects the public and keeps the practitioners suitably updated and conscious of requisite standards and ethical practices.
Unqualified or unregistered practitioners can be dangerous and, if caught, are subject to penalties under the law. The public is often not fully aware of the requirements for practice, or indeed of the existence of the CPSM, its structure and function.
