Speech Language Pathologists, commonly referred to as Speech Therapists, assist individuals of all ages, within a therapeutic setting, with a variety of communication disorders, communication delays and swallowing difficulties. They are regarded as therapists because they have knowledge of and skills that overlap with: medicine, psychology, counseling, languages, and linguistics. Speech Therapists are trained to help individuals with articulation, language, voice, fluency (stammering/stuttering), hearing and swallowing problems.
