Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the following position in the Ministry of Health & Wellness.

JOB PURPOSE

                                                                                                           

To effective response to the HIV epidemic, the Key Populations Quality of Care Officer is critical in the process of developing a national HIV/AIDS response. The officer will support the care of key populations by strengthening and addressing issues regarding increasing HIV risk and vulnerability, stigma and discrimination and harmful gender norms.

KEY OUPUTS

  • Develop, conduct, monitor and coordinate all activities related to key population groups, including adolescents.
  • Priority populations, and priority programme interventions to be defined, and national responses for key populations in the HIV programme are to be defined and linked to relevant programmes and resource mobilization opportunities.
  • Priority gaps in HIV programmes for key populations related to supply, demand, quality and structural factors to be identified and actions to address the gaps are to be agreed on, with the development of defined priority plans of action and data needs.
  • Individual Workplan prepare and submitted as agreed

 

RESPONSIBILITIES (TECHNICAL/ADMINISTRATIVE/PROFESSIONAL)

  • Assist in identifying challenges faced by key population groups in their attempts to access treatment, care and support.
  • Support the implementation of all programmes and activities developed for key population groups.
  • Monitor all key population centered activities at treatment sites.
  • Ensure standardized quality of care for all key population groups is maintained.
  • Support quality improvement activities for all key population groups.
  • Assist with all linkage and retention activities.
  • Attend monthly/quarterly/annual meetings/conferences/workshops and special sessions as required of HIV Programme Personnel.
  • Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual/ad hoc quantitative and qualitative reports in collaboration with the PLHIV Liaison Officer/Regional TCS Officer and submit to the National TCS Director.
  • Oversee and assist with the collection, compilation of all associated data in collaboration with the Regional teams.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

The selected individual must have Government of Jamaica, private sector or World Bank procurement experience and an in-depth knowledge of government operations. The selected individual must also possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a health related field
  • At least three (3) years field experience in HIV
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Computer literate
  • Good interpersonal skills
