Finance and Accounts Manager – Level 3

Compensation – $3,335,402 pa (Minimum)

 

JOB PURPOSE

Under the general supervision of the Executive Director of the Foundation, the Finance and Accounts Manager is responsible for providing sound financial advice, expertise and effective financial management in the administration of accounting operations; processing day-to-day financial transactions, payroll, managing charitable funds; preparing monthly reports and financial statements of the Foundation. The incumbent is also required to manage and mitigate risks and ensures accounting best practices, policies, procedures and other regulations are compliant with GOJ’s legislation.

 

KEY OUTPUT

  • Strategic Business and Operational Plan prepared;
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual Reports prepared and submitted;
  • Annual Budget prepared;
  • Financial statements prepared
  • Financial reports prepared and submitted;
  • Fixed assets register maintained;
  • Payroll processed;
  • Statutory deductions submitted
  • Audit schedules prepared;
  • Charitable funds managed;
  • Technical Advice provided;
  • Adequate controls or tracking systems in place;
  • Individual workplan prepared

 

Key responsibility areas INCLUDES:

  • Contributes to the development of the Foundation’s strategic business and operational plans;
  • Develops policies and procedures to guide the operations of the Finance and Accounts Department;
  • Provides technical advice to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and other relevant stakeholders on the financial management and position of the Foundation;

 

Minimum Required Education and Experience 

  • Masters’ Degree in Accounting/ ACCA – level 4 certification, Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • Minimum of four (4) years’ related work experience preferably in a government organization and in a managerial position;

OR

  • BSc in Accounting
  • Minimum of six (6) years related work experience preferably in a government organization and in a managerial position.
