On Tuesday July 5, 2016, Minister of Health Dr. the Hon. Christopher Tufton held a Post Sectoral Press Briefing at the Office of the Prime Minister. During the Press Briefing, Minister Tufton outlined several priority areas from his Sectoral presentation and engaged the media in a question and answer session.

Highlights from World Blood Donor Day 2016 observance dubbed 'Donorfest 2016'. Donorfest 2016 was in recognition of Voluntary Blood Donors who have donated blood over 50 times to the National Blood Transfusion Service. This was held at the Emancipation Park, New Kingston, June 14, 2016. World Blood Donor Day is observed on June 14, each year to encourage voluntary, unpaid blood donation to assist in saving lives.

The National labour Day project was held in sections of St. Catherine on Monday May 23 under the theme "for Health's sake, keep it clean". Minister of Health, Dr. the Honourable Christopher Tufton along with Ministry of Health workers, took part in the activities.

"Move For Health Day was observed on May 10, 2016. Official ceremony and activities were hosted by the Southern Regional Health Authority and was held at the Bargain Village Shopping Centre, May Pen, Clarendon."

Highlights from the Jingle and Selfie Awards Ceremony held at the Medallion Hall Hotel on April 8, 2016. Port Morant Primary and St. Albans Primary & Infant Schools were the winners of the Jingle and Selfie competitions respectively.

Shaggy Make A Difference Foundation donated Fifty-Five Million Dollars (JA$55,000,000.00) to the Bustamante Hospital for Children from funds raised from the Shaggy & Friends 2016 Charity Concert - I Dare!. WISYNCO Group through its WATA brand also donated Eight Million Two Hundred and Sixty Thousand (JA$8,260,000.00) and Stewarts Automotive Group donated One Million Five Hundred Thousand (JA$1,500,000.00). The official handover of cheques was done on the grounds of the Bustamante Hospital for Children on March 22, 2016.
