The Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Health and Wellness has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Support for The Health System Strengthening for The Prevention And Care Management Of Non-Communicable Disease Programme and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the procurement of consulting services.
The consultant will be responsible for assisting in the management the project life cycle in support of key internal and external customers/stakeholders during the implementation of the EHR and other digital health initiatives.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness now invites interested eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the mentioned services by submitting their CVs bearing the requisite experience and qualification. These include:
- Nursing undergraduate degree (e.g., BA. Nursing or equivalent) is required from a recognized Tertiary Institution.
- Post-basic Nursing qualification in Midwifery or Public Health Nursing.
- Health Informatics training would be considered a considerable asset.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Nursing experience in the public sector in Jamaica, of which at least two (2) years must have been spent working in a hospital setting. The candidate should have spent at least one year in an administrative or leadership capacity.
- At least 1 year working in a complex multi-factorial project.
- Mixture of diverse Primary Care (clinic) and Hospital work experience.
- Technology related experience, especially with tools or products that are public facing.
- Advanced writing, communication, and presentation skills in English.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the IDB’s: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-9, March 2011, setting forth the IDB’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method set out in the IDB’s Policies.
