The Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Health and Wellness has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Support for The Health System Strengthening for The Prevention And Care Management Of Non-Communicable Disease Programme and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the procurement of consulting services.
The consultant will be responsible for managing/ overseeing, monitoring and coordinating the activities of the third-party organisation relating to the implementation of the MOH ICT infrastructure, including LANs, WANs & Wireless Networks design and installations.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness now invites interested eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the mentioned services by submitting their CVs bearing the requisite experience and qualification. These include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or a related discipline;
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent; and
- Five (5) years of related experience, with at least three (3) years in a Network or IT Security role.
- Sound knowledge of LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.
- Good knowledge of network capacity planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices
- Good knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies
- Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and Internet standards, including routers, switches, firewalls, remote access, DNS, VLAN, DSL, and Ethernet
- Excellent hardware troubleshooting experience and network monitoring and analysis software
- Ability to identify and analyse information security risks
- Sound knowledge of user access control system to prevent unauthorised access, modification, manipulation etc.
- Excellent communication and decision making skills
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the IDB’s: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-9, March 2011, setting forth the IDB’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method set out in the IDB’s Policies.
