Senior Final Accounts Officer (FMG/PA 1) (vacant)

Salary $3,501,526 per annum

JOB PURPOSE

Under the general direction of the Director, Final Accounts and Reporting, the Senior Final Accounts Officer is directly responsible for the preparation of the Ministry’s accounts on an accurate and complete monthly and annual financial statements to the Auditor General and the Financial Secretary; within generally accepted accounting practices and established organizational guidelines.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

1. Ensures that all Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Income Receivable, Accruals, Prepayments, Receipts, Lodgements, Payments, Depreciation Provisions other Provisions etc. are accurately and properly brought to account in the period to which they relate;

2. Resolve all errors found in above statements and submits to the Director, Final Accounts and Reporting for checking;

3. Prints all relevant Financial Statements for all head, in respect of the closed period and submit to the Director, Final Accounts and Reporting;

4. Collates Financial Statements for submission to the Ministry of Finance and the Public Service and the Auditor General’s Department

5. Maintains the register of Audit Queries and prepares the monthly report of outstanding queries;

6. Assists in the preparation of Appropriation Accounts;

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting / Management Studies with Accounting or BBA Degree from an accredited tertiary institution
• Associate Degree in Business Studies/Management Studies/Business Administration/Accounting from an accredited tertiary institution.
• Diploma in Government Accounting, MIND, Government Accounting Level 1,2 & 3
• AAT Level 3/ ACCA-CAT Level C/Level 3; ACCA Level 1; NVQJ Level 4, Accounting
• Three (3) years’ experience.
