Salary: $ 8,921,315 per annum
OB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Director Treatment Care & Support, the Programme Development Officer will provide technical support to the Treatment, Care & Support Component of the Programme in ensuring the effective implementation of the programme activities and contribute to the achievement of the programmes goals and objectives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Management / Administrative /Technical Responsibilities
- Coordination of the National HIV Programmes
- Reporting mechanisms requirements relevant to the HIV are met
- Monthly Programme reports relating to the National HIV Programme
- Assist in ensuring that the reporting mechanisms requirements relevant to HIV are met.
- Ensure that surveillance data submitted to the unit is collated and analysed in keeping with reporting requirements.
- Timely reporting through the summarization and collation of information required for stipulated reports.
- Monitoring the HIV Programme and develop policies and protocols to govern service delivery
- Coordination and monitoring of consultancies related to HIV
- Assists with the coordination of HIVDR committee
- Monitoring treatment sites for HIV, with regular visits and audits; and analysis of reports to facilitate programme implementation at the site level.
- Assists with the revision of HIV guiding documents; and manages the sensitization of health care workers to revised documents
- Ensure uninterrupted supply of health products for HIV (disposables, test kits, monitoring supplies and ARVs)
- Assist in the development and implementation of all Treatment, Care and Support activities.
- Strengthen programming HIV
- Facilitate and conduct training of health staff as indicated
- Prepare work plans when required
- Provide technical assistance to the RHAs
- Improve linkages between the health care system and the HIV/STI/TB Unit
- Attend monthly/quarterly/annual meetings/conferences/workshops and special sessions (international and local) as required
- Prepare monthly/quarterly/annual/ad hoc quantitative and qualitative reports
- Develop, implement and update training curriculum for the HIV Programme
- Oversee and assist (where necessary) with the collection, compilation of all associated data in collaboration with the Parish and Regional teams.
MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Medical Degree from an accredited Medical School
- Diploma or Master’s in Public Health;
- A minimum of five (5) years relevant experience or any equivalent combination education, training and experience in the health sector with exposure to sexual and reproductive health;
- Plus Peer Approval duly signed by relevant personnel;
- Local experience in public health/primary health care
