The Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Health and Wellness (MoHW) has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Support for The Health System Strengthening for The Prevention and Care Management of Non-Communicable Disease Programme (HSSP) and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the procurement of consulting services.
The Clerk of Works will assist the Project Engineer in overseeing the on-site execution of projects and will play a key role in ensuring quality, compliance, and adherence to design specifications throughout construction. The contract duration is for twelve (12) months.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness now invites interested eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the mentioned services by submitting their CVs bearing the requisite experience and qualification. These include:
- Certificate or equivalent in General Construction (Level 3), Construction Management, Building Construction or related field and Five (5) years’ experience as a Clerk of Works or similar role in construction projects
OR
- Ten (10) years’ experience as a Clerk of Works or similar role in construction projects
- Experience in new construction and renovation of healthcare related projects would be an asset.
- Experience in quality control, safety regulations, and financial management in construction projects.
The Consultant is also required to demonstrate competence in the following areas:
- Understanding of civil, structural, mechanical and electrical works
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications
- ICT literate and must be familiar with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) and Autodesk AutoCAD
- Familiarity with measuring tools, testing equipment, and safety devices relevant to construction inspections.
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.11 of the IDB’s: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-15, March 2019, setting forth the IDB’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method and the Eligibility provisions set out in the IDB’s Policies.
