Cabinet Approves New National Health Fund Board

The new Board of Management of the NHF was this week approved by the Cabinet.

They include Board Chairman, Business man, Christopher Zacca, Vice Chairman, Company Executive, Brian George, Financial Professional, Paul Hanworth, Business Executive, Dr. David Lowe, Engineer, Stephen Sykes, Medical Practitioner, Dr. Shane Alexis, Banker, Cecile Watson, Marketing Practitioner, Lyndsey McDonnough and CEO, NHF, Everton Anderson.

Minister of Health, Dr. Christopher Tufton is expected to shortly officially meet with the new Board of the National Health Fund (NHF) where he will give the charge, to include driving efficiencies in the costs and distribution of pharmaceuticals drugs and to review options for increasing funding to the health sector, including the feasibility of establishing a national health insurance scheme.

According to the Minister “I am confident that this mix of persons with their experience, who are tasked with overseeing the affairs of the NHF, will undoubtedly work together to find the best strategies and solutions to ensure that the agency is positioned in the best way possible, to achieve its objectives of serving those Jamaicans who depend on public health care for their wellbeing.”
