The Government of Jamaica through the Ministry of Health and Wellness has received financing from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), toward the cost of the Support for The Health System Strengthening for The Prevention and Care Management Of Non-Communicable Disease Programme and intends to apply part of the proceeds for the procurement of consulting services.
The consultant will be responsible for coordinating the activities associated with the implementation of the fourth national Jamaica Health and Lifestyle Survey. He/ she will oversee the day-to-day activities of study, and report on field activities. The consultant will be the liaison between the activities conducted on behalf of the Ministry of Health and Wellness and the Principal Investigators.
The Ministry of Health and Wellness now invites interested eligible individuals to indicate their interest in providing the mentioned services by submitting their CVs bearing the requisite experience and qualification. These include:
- Advanced university degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, the Social Sciences or other relevant field
- Five (5) years’ experience in carrying out clinical, health and social research.
- Previous experience managing or occupying a lead role in projects of similar size and scope.
- Advanced writing, communication and presentation skills in English;
The attention of interested Consultants is drawn to paragraph 1.9 of the IDB’s: Policies for the Selection and Contracting of Consultants financed by the Inter-American Development Bank GN-2350-15, March 2019, setting forth the IDB’s policy on conflict of interest. A Consultant will be selected in accordance with the Selection of Individual Consultants method and the Eligibility provisions set out in the IDB’s Policies.
